For decades San Carlos bay has been a diving mecca, not
only to southwestern divers, but as a world class destination
for avid divers the world over. Her beautiful coves, headlands,
reefs, seamounts and islands have been captivating divers of
all experience levels. The rocky substrate is host to beautiful
soft corals and tropical and subtropical species intermingle.
One of the things that's best about San Carlos bay is San
Carlos itself. This lovely seaside village is one of the most
beautiful places on earth where the stark desert landscape
meets the bountiful Sea of Cortez. San Carlos is home to not
only elegant hotels and restaurants but to very acceptable
economy accommodations and excellent taco stands, cafés
and pubs. As a testament to this magical place, many who
have come on vacation to San Carlos bay have never left.

San Carlos bay daily dive trips
Two tank dives
Our day trips from San Carlos bay offer a variety of dive
experiences at a myriad of sites. Depending on groups
preferences and the diving conditions we can dive a beautiful
seamount, a wild reef, a deep water island, a wreck or even do a
bluewater spacewalk.
Cortez Divers caters to small parties of from two to six divers
and our departure from Marina San Carlos is at 8:00 am. Most of
the dive destinations are within a half hour travel from the
marina. Lunch will be provided and after the second dive, of the
day, we'll anchor in a picturesque cove for icy margaritas and
snorkeling.
Price: $65.00 per hour for the boat
Weekend liveaboard
For many divers an extended liveaboard dive trip is a once in a lifetime experience. For others with both the time and
the resources, liveaboards are the only way to dive the worlds most awesome dive sites.
Cortez Divers makes the comfort and convenience of liveaboard diving available on a weekend basis. Our 50 foot
motoryacht accommodates 6 divers in three staterooms. We will depart on Friday night and cruise up the coast to a
beautiful sheltered bay where we'll anchor for the night. The following morning, after a hearty Mexican breakfast, we'll
head offshore to Isla San Pedro where, in the warm, crystal clear water we'll chase fish and play with the resident sea lion
population. Depending on conditions, the second dive of the day may be to jump down on a sunken 300 foot ferryboat or
a dive at a headland with a profusion of marine life. Mid afternoon, we'll return to the anchorage and dingy ashore to the
white sand beach to swim, lay in the sun or snorkel.
That evening, after a gourmet, sunset dinner aboard we'll conduct a night dive and frolic with the nocturnal residents of
the Sea of Cortez.
The following day, as we head back to San Carlos, we can dive a tuna boat wreck or jump down at white rock, which
has always been a favored attraction. The last dive of the weekend will be at what is one of our favorite dive sites; the
seamounts.
All divers are welcome to spend Sunday night aboard awaiting a Monday morning departure.
Cost for the weekend liveaboard is $499.00 per person and we must have 6 divers to depart.
